Chapter 13: Spirit Contract
Fenric stepped inside the quiet house, the wooden floor creaking slightly underfoot. The air here felt different—heavy with mana, yet serene. He moved toward the center of the room where the summoning circle lay hidden beneath an enchanted wooden panel.
With a whisper in the fairy tongue, the panel shimmered and faded away, revealing the intricate Spirit Summoning Circle etched deep into the floor. It glowed faintly with dormant runes, etched in patterns only spirit mages could truly understand. The circle pulsed gently, waiting to be awakened.
This was no ordinary circle—it was a Connection Gate to the Spirit Plane, carved from Spirit magic and enhanced by Mavis's affinity with the elemental realms. It resonated with spiritual frequencies and was capable of forging powerful contracts with spirits.
Fenric stepped into the circle without hesitation.
The Fairy King Ring on his finger began to glow with a soft red light as soon as he entered.
He began to chant—not just any chant, but one in the language of fairies, a tongue known to enhance chances of obtaining the best contract possible.
The magic around him reacted.
Runes lit up across the circle in a ripple, flaring to life in vibrant colors—crimson, silver, deep indigo. Mana surged upward in currents, swirling around him like an unseen wind. The connection to the Spirit Plane was stabilizing, growing stronger.
Then, as the last verse left his lips, Fenric bit his thumb, letting a drop of blood fall directly into the center of the circle.
The blood sizzled as it hit the runes—reacting not with heat, but with raw spiritual energy.
"I, Fenric vaelthorn Vareldis, bearer of the Fairy King Ring, call upon the spirit who hears my voice, who resonates with my soul—come forth and show thyself!"
