Chapter 164: Ch 164 : The Second Trial
In a dark cave, Gray and Loke walked forward cautiously.
In the earlier battle, the two had worked together to defeat the team of Mest and Wendy, successfully passing the first test.
"Alright! We passed the first trial!" Gray raised his fist, his usually calm expression betraying a hint of joy.
"If Natsu and Freed got eliminated in this round, the rest of the exam would be much easier. No... wait, Cana could also be a problem," Loke muttered, hands in his pockets as he strolled behind Gray.
"Don't be ridiculous. The road to becoming an S-Class Wizard is never easy."
Gray scoffed at Loke's words.
The S-Class Exam was a test to select the strongest wizards—there were no shortcuts to take.
In Gray's mind, rather than worrying about others' progress, the best thing he could do was push his own abilities to the limit.
"I get it. But still, Mest... I can't believe we actually won against him just like that."
"Speaking of which, was he always that weak? Forget Wendy for a second—Mest used to be way stronger, didn't he?" Gray turned back to look at Loke, a puzzled expression on his face.
Loke, however, didn't seem too bothered. "Maybe it just means we've gotten stronger."
