Chapter 92: Ch 92 : Ambush
A gentle breeze carried the faint fragrance of flowers through the forest, rustling the leaves and lifting a few into the air, where they danced briefly before settling onto the long black hair of a young girl.
She appeared to be no more than sixteen or seventeen years old, her slender figure wrapped in a black trench coat that did little to conceal her pale, almost ghostly skin.
Deep scars—one on her right abdomen and another along her left rib—marred her delicate frame.
Her long black twin tails swayed slightly with the wind.
With her eyes closed and arms crossed over her chest, she stood motionless, as if waiting for something.
"...He's here."
Her cold, detached voice broke the silence as she slowly opened her blue eyes, directing her gaze toward a figure approaching in the distance.
The newcomer was a young man about the same age as the girl.
His features were delicate—almost excessively so—giving him a somewhat fragile appearance.
He had black hair and brown eyes, and the moment he saw the girl, his pupils shrank slightly before quickly returning to a calm state.
"I didn't expect that the one sent after me would be you," he said, his tone carrying a bitter amusement.
