Chapter 220
"Zixu has been notified, but he seems to have run into some trouble..." Aburame Hatsuizumi looked at the drowsy Den Den Mushi and prepared to go out and meet the enemy.
The land of whirlpool in the Sky had been transformed by them into a fully fortified war citadel. Though it was unclear how it compared to ancient weapons like Pluto from the Pirate World, it was more than enough to handle those White Zetsu.
The protective barrier surrounding the fortress hadn't been lifted yet, and Rossinanti was still maintaining it. Atop the city wall, Jin'an led his sniper squad in targeting the enemy leaders below. While Hyuga Chihano wasn't too familiar with tactical operations, she was incredibly proficient with her Gatling gun—so all she had to do was aim and rain bullets down from above.
Aburame Hatsuizumi moved like a fish returning to the sea, releasing a swarm of black beetles across the battlefield. These insects devoured everything in their path. She was curious to see how they would evolve after feeding on these strange White Zetsu.
The White Zetsu forces didn't expect this mechanical fortress to be so impenetrable. Unable to approach it directly, they resorted to launching long-range attacks using the venomous stingers on their bodies. Yet with Karin acting as a combat medic, the damage from the poisonous barbs wasn't too effective.
Boom!
A loud explosion echoed in front of the fortress wall. A familiar figure appeared before Hyuga Chinano and the others. Although immortality and Impure World Reincarnation (Edo Tensei) weren't the best match for him, Deidara had still been summoned. And despite his opposition to such mindless destruction, he was under someone else's control and couldn't resist.
"I'll let you experience true art once again!" he shouted. Pulling back his red cloak, he revealed a small clay ball with facial features beginning to split. Deidara's already-cracked skin fractured further, and white light burst from his body. The intense energy surged outward, threatening to swallow everyone nearby—
"Barrier..." a lazy voice muttered.
The explosion didn't stop—but something strange happened. The blast aimed at Sky Castle suddenly halted, blocked by an invisible barrier. The other side, however, wasn't spared. White Zetsu were torn to pieces by their own ally's detonation.
The scorched ash began to swirl and reform—those resurrected through Edo Tensei.
