Chapter 184
A huge purple head emerged from the ground. This grotesque creature opened its massive mouth, which took up half of its body. Its tongue, as wide as a grown man's palm, swept up a nearly decomposed corpse from the ground. The sound of crunching bones echoed as it chewed, and when it finally spit it out, the body was fully restored, looking just like it did before death.
The body of Pain, which had been crushed by Utakata, stood once again behind Tendo Pain. Utakata limbs were pinned to the ground by black chakra rods, immobilizing him. He could only gasp heavily, unable to resist.
"The Six-Tails has been captured. Itachi is handling the Four-Tails. Our next target... is the Nine-Tails." Tendo Pain coldly stated before knocking Utakata unconscious and dragging him away.
Meanwhile, within the Akatsuki base, Hidan had found Orochimaru, carrying pieces of his own limbs. Kakuzu had been captured, and Orochimaru was the only one left in Akatsuki skilled in this kind of dark medical ninjutsu.
Hidan examined his stitched-up arm, surprised by Orochimaru's craftsmanship. It was even better than Kakuzu's work.
"Damn, I didn't know you had skills like this. How'd you even do it? It feels like a brand-new arm," Hidan said, flexing his fingers. It was fully functional and responsive.
Still, something felt off. When he had returned, he had passed out from overusing his powers and didn't remember what had happened afterward.
"As long as you're happy, test it out. See if it works for you," Orochimaru replied, his back turned, working on something. The sharp grinding sound echoed from his hands.
"Yeah, but what the hell are you doing over there? Sounds creepy as shit," Hidan muttered, feeling uneasy.
Orochimaru turned around with a casual grin, hands raised. "Nothing sinister. You're all patched up now. You can go."
But Hidan's sharp eyes caught something strange—Orochimaru had briefly held a pair of black-and-white knuckles. Whatever it was had disappeared quickly, but beneath the grinder-like machine sat a sack of black and white powder that looked suspiciously like bone meal.
