Chapter 117: The Raikage’s Attack
News of the Uchiha clan capturing the Two-Tails Jinchuriki alive quickly made its way back to Konoha—and, unsurprisingly, also reached the ears of Danzo Shimura.
"Fugaku did an excellent job," Sarutobi Hiruzen said with satisfaction. "This takes a lot of pressure off us. With a feat like this, the other villages won’t dare look down on us."
Although the Uchiha didn’t hold much political power in the village, Hiruzen appreciated that Fugaku still stood up when it truly mattered.
Koharu Utatane, however, wasn’t nearly as pleased. She eyed Hiruzen critically and said, "You’re too short-sighted, Sarutobi. Sure, the Uchiha achieved something big, but how does it reflect on your authority? And don’t forget, capturing the Two-Tails doesn’t mean we’re in the clear—there are still the other Kage and the Eight-Tails. Piss off Kumogakure enough, and we could be facing another Shinobi World War."
Hiruzen fell silent, exasperated by Koharu’s cynicism. Lately, he often felt the weight of age creeping in, dulling his patience. But his old comrades were even worse—clinging to old fears and doubts even in moments of success.

Meanwhile, at a secret ROOT base on the Land of Fire’s border, a different atmosphere reigned.
Bang!
Danzo slammed his fist into the table, his one visible eye burning with rage. If there was anything Danzo despised more than failure, it was the Uchiha.
News of their triumphant capture of the Two-Tails stoked the flames of his resentment.
Damn Uchiha...
