Chapter 105: Extraterritorial Demons
"Supreme Sorcerer, what’s going on this time?"
Su Xiuyu couldn’t help but feel a bit guilty every time he faced the Ancient One. After all, she had generously taught him the mystic arts of Kamar-Taj, and he had never really repaid her.
"Nothing too serious," the Ancient One replied calmly. "Today, I’m taking you to see some extradimensional demons—creatures from beyond this universe, from other dimensions."
"Alright," Su Xiuyu agreed without hesitation. He was intrigued by the idea of encountering life from other dimensions. Right now, he lacked a worthy opponent. While the Ancient One was powerful, Su Xiuyu didn’t feel comfortable sparring with his teacher. As for Odin, the so-called God King, he hadn’t had the chance to meet him yet.
The Ancient One opened a swirling portal and stepped through it, motioning for Su Xiuyu to follow.
On the other side, an endless, dark expanse stretched before them—filled with grotesque, chaotic creatures from countless dimensions. Calling them "demons" was almost too kind. They were hideous, with forms that screamed "villain" at a glance.
"Don’t mind their appearance," the Ancient One said, reading his expression. "These beings are obsessed with devouring and consuming each other. Aesthetics mean nothing to them—they evolve purely for survival, not looks."
"...I didn’t even say anything. How’d you know what I was thinking?"
"I had the same reaction the first time I saw them," she said with a smirk.
Su Xiuyu let out a breath, feeling oddly reassured. Apparently, it was hard not to judge appearances—no matter how enlightened someone claimed to be.
"There’s a protective magic circle set up here that keeps these greedy predators at bay," the Ancient One explained. "But over time, their numbers build up. If we don’t occasionally clean them out, the pressure on the barrier will eventually cause it to collapse. Today, I want you to help me with the purge."
