Chapter 73: First Encounter
Su Xiuyu instantly conjured a Silas Shield in his hand, blocking the energy blast Carol fired at him.
To be fair, Kamar-Taj spells were actually pretty useful—practically instant-cast. But that wasn't a huge deal for Su Xiuyu. He and Madara didn't even need fancy incantations. Just a quick hand sign and boom—Ninjutsu. Also instant.
"Hey, ma'am, was that really necessary?" Su Xiuyu joked, brushing off the heat from the blast. "You wanna kill me just 'cause I accidentally woke you up?"
Carol rolled her eyes. The guy had blocked her attack like it was nothing, and now he had the audacity to complain?
"I don't see any wounds on you. Is this Planet 53?"
"Room 53, ma'am," Su Xiuyu said, playing along. "Need any help?"
"A member of the Kree team, name's Fuss, is tracking Skrulls. We're trying to locate a working communicator. Got any suggestions?"
"The tech here is kinda primitive," Su Xiuyu said, thinking for a moment. "But there's an old telephone booth right outside. You'll have to make do."
How she was supposed to mod the phone to reach the Kree fleet wasn't his problem. That was her specialty, not his.
"Thanks for the advice. Are you planning to leave?"
"Be my guest. It's just coincidence that we ran into each other. Nothing holding me back."
