Chapter 68: Asking for Help from the Uchiha
Kagami slowly opened his eyes to the sight of jagged rocks surrounding him. As his vision cleared, he realized he was inside a cave. Ahead of him, Tobirama had his back turned, crouched by a crackling fire as he added more firewood and carefully roasted a rabbit.
"You're awake? Kagami." Tobirama glanced back and noticed him stirring. "Be careful when you move. I already bandaged you, so don't go tearing those wounds open."
"You've been out cold for two full days. I'm still pretty banged up myself, so I'm in no rush to head back to the village. Let's eat something first."
"Yes, Master."
Kagami sat up slowly, wincing slightly, and took the roasted rabbit Tobirama handed him. After two days of unconsciousness, his stomach was painfully empty, and the smell of roasted meat was irresistible. He took a bite, and the taste felt heavenly.
"Master, what happened to the last one of Kumogakure's Golden and Silver Brothers?"
"They were crushed by Susanoo in one slap. Honestly, I didn't even see a complete body. Just a pile of mangled flesh and mud."
Kagami went quiet, disturbed by the mental image. He'd seen death before, but this kind of annihilation was grotesque.
"Don't feel bad," Tobirama said calmly. "That's the world we live in—kill or be killed. Kinkaku and Ginkaku brought this on themselves. If you'd fallen into their hands, your fate wouldn't have been any better."
"Master, why is Master Xiu Yu's Susanoo so... massive?"
Tobirama let out a small chuckle. "Curious, are you? That makes sense. You're from the younger generation of Uchiha—you wouldn't know much about Xiuyu's situation."
