Chapter 9: Becoming a Younger Brother
"Thank you, Captain Su, for your help!" The person in charge of the Special Service Bureau was very polite to Su Xiuyu. He was an insider who understood Su Xiuyu's strength, so there was no way he would dare to be disrespectful. Besides, the director had already informed him that Su Xiuyu not only had power but also had strong backing. Knowing this, he made sure to act accordingly.
With the help of a small lifting device, the mutant deer were loaded onto several heavy trucks.
"Captain Su, I've contacted the barbecue chef as you requested. He'll be here tonight to handle the roasting."
"Alright, we'll eat the two dead deer together. Let's make it an evening feast. You must do me a favor and stay for it." Seeing how busy the man had been, Su Xiuyu extended the invitation.
"Of course! See you tonight."
That evening, inside the Secret Service compound, several chefs set up a massive grill. The two mutant deer, now stripped of their antlers, had been skinned and cleaned. Their hides were so tough that it had taken several people the entire afternoon to remove them properly.
The sight of the enormous mutant deer roasting over the fire was nothing short of spectacular. Almost all the Secret Service personnel gathered around. With two such massive deer, there was more than enough for everyone to enjoy. The air buzzed with excitement as the chefs coated the meat with various spices, salt, and seasonings before lighting two huge fires to begin the roasting process.
As the director, Lei Jiangang gave a short speech, primarily to thank the special operations team for their contributions. Of course, everyone knew that most of the credit belonged to Su Xiuyu.
Su Xiuyu's parents had also been invited to the barbecue. Seeing the confidence on their son's face, they finally realized that he had grown up.
Everyone had a great time, enjoying the unique taste of the giant mutant deer. It wasn't the most refined meal, but the novelty of it made it special.
Later that night, Su Xiuyu politely declined an invitation from Lei Jiangang and his son to continue the gathering. Instead, he returned home with his parents, who had recently moved into their new residence.
