Chapter 1: THE BEGINNING
"What do you mean you can't get along with him? He's the young master of the Kang family! Do you even realize how powerful his family is in Tian Xu City?"
"You're seriously overreacting. He only wanted to talk to me—it's not like I slept with him or anything!"
Her voice kept going, but I had already stopped listening.
At that moment, her words just became background noise.
I clenched my fists, trying to control the storm inside me. My chest felt heavy like it might explode.
"Enough," I said quietly, but firmly. "Do whatever you want. But don't act like I don't know the truth."
She froze. Her expression shifted, guilt flickering in her eyes.
"Last night... I planned a surprise for you," I continued.
"Just when I was about to call you, I saw a story posted by Young Master Kang. He was kissing a girl..."
I looked straight at her.
"And that girl was wearing the same dress you wore yesterday. The same ring on her finger—the one I gave you on your birthday last year. I worked day and night just to afford that ring."
