The cool mist of the forest curled around them like a living thing. Liora held Eli’s hand as they quietly walked deeper into the Misty Forest. The pale light of the moon filtered through the thick fog, giving the trees an eerie glow. It was silent, except for the crunching sound of dry leaves beneath their feet.
After returning from their last adventure, Liora had decided to bring Eli back into the Misty Forest. It was peaceful and rich in resources, and it would become their secret place to train, explore, and relax without anyone disturbing them.
As they walked deeper into the fog, Eli suddenly tugged on her sleeve. Liora looked down at him with a gentle smile. His face was serious. His usual playful eyes were now filled with hesitation, as if he was struggling to say something.
"Sister..." he whispered. His voice was soft and nervous.
"Hm? What is it, Eli?" Liora asked gently. She slowed her steps and knelt down so they were face to face.
There was a pause as Eli bit his lip. His small fists clenched at his sides. Then finally, he took a deep breath and spoke.
"I... I awakened my ability."
Liora’s eyes widened slightly, though she had expected this moment for some time. She had already noticed the strange things around Eli lately. Sometimes the way people seemed to listen to him more than usual. Sometimes how animals stayed calm when he was near.
She had suspected that Eli had awakened an ability, but she never forced him to speak about it. She had been waiting patiently for him to tell her when he was ready.
