Chapter 59: Giving away High Grade Crystal
Liora finally stepped forward and took a seat beside them, her calm gaze scanning their expressions. She leaned in slightly and asked with a calm and curious gaze, "So, what mission were you all thinking of taking?"
The room fell silent for a brief moment before Zhou Yinuo cleared her throat and repeated their earlier discussion. Liang Zihan and Chen Wei also added details, going over everything they had already discussed before Liora entered. She listened without interruption, nodding along even though she already knew most of it.
Once they finished, she tilted her head slightly and asked the question that had been on her mind. "Chen Wei, what level are you?"
Chen Wei stiffened at the unexpected question. He shifted uncomfortably before replying, his voice laced with shame. "I’m just at Level 2. I awakened three months ago, but I haven’t been able to level up any further."
He clenched his fists, frustration evident on his face. "I’ve only managed to kill Level 1 Rotter zombies. And they don’t even drop crystal cores. The probability of getting one from them is one in thousands, so I’ve never been able to gather any."
Liora nodded in understanding but did not say anything. Instead, she stood up and walked toward her room. The others exchanged puzzled glances as they watched her disappear behind the door.
Moments later, she returned, carrying her backpack. She reached inside and pulled out a single crimson-red crystal core, placing it on the table in front of them.
The moment their eyes landed on it, their breath hitched.
Chen Wei, in particular, felt his entire body freeze. The glow from the core was mesmerizing, almost hypnotic. A strange pull made him want to reach out and submerge himself in its power.
