Chapter 36: He is more dead than a pig.
Liora writhed on the ground, her body drenched in sweat as the poison burned through her veins like molten fire. Her vision started blurring from the intense pain, and the world around her distorted into a haze of blissfulness. She bit her lip hard enough to draw blood, trying to stifle the screams that threatened to escape her throat.
She knew she would soon lose her mind and do something she would regret in the future as the poison took effect in her body. Her mind turned into puddles of chaos, and all kinds of thoughts flooded in, just to extinguish the lust and fire raging inside her.
She could only hope that no living creature came near, or she doubted she could stop herself from pouncing on him. Her mind stopped working to distinguish between right and wrong. There was only one thought crashing in her mind—to find someone and merge her entire body with him.
"System!" she gasped with a strained voice. Now was not the time to think, or she would really do something she would regret. "Give me the potion!"
A second later, a cool vial materialized in her trembling hand. With great effort, she uncorked it and poured the glowing liquid down her throat. The effect was immediate—cool relief spread through her body, chasing away the scorching heat that had been searing her insides. The intense pain dulled, her breath steadied, and her limbs stopped convulsing.
"Ahh!" She had never felt this relief in her entire life, neither in this one nor in the past one. Her body was soaked with sweat as if she had run a marathon.
Her fingers dug into the dirt as she forced herself upright, still panting. The system’s voice echoed in her mind, calm as ever. "The poison is subsiding. Your body will take a few minutes to fully recover. Try not to exert yourself."
The potion had taken quick effect; even all her external injuries started fading as if they had never been there, but only a dull ache remained to remind her that it was all real and that the bastard had dared to drug her.
Liora rolled her shoulders, flexing her fingers as the last of the discomfort faded. Now her anger came at full force as she calmed down. That man had dared to do this. Whether it was to torment her or for his dirty tricks, she knew she would take revenge because she was not someone who liked to owe anyone.
