Chapter 26: Liora’s Zombie
They must have decided to flee the moment she started fighting the Level 2 zombie. Typical. Zombies were territorial, after all. They avoided higher-ranked ones, knowing they wouldn’t survive in a fight.
"Cowards," she scoffed.
Zombies are territorial. The powerful zombies often kill lower-ranked zombies. So the lower-ranked zombies always avoid Level 2 zombies. It was not because of their intelligence.
It was just their instincts that did not allow them to go closer to the higher-ranked zombies, because higher-ranked zombies become berserk when they sense other zombies eyeing their prey.
Only similar-level zombies form hordes because they do not sense danger from zombies of the same level.
It can be said that they only attack humans mindlessly. They cannot decipher whether the human is stronger than them or not. Or maybe the smell of fresh flesh blinds them, making them attack.
But it made Liora ponder. If they become blinded in front of humans, why do they not become blinded in front of higher-level zombies? Just how could they avoid them?
In her opinion, they are mindless. They should not be able to tell whether someone is higher than them or lower than them.
Sigh! What can she do... She still has many things to understand about this world... And it is not like the humans of this world are well aware either. It was their first time too in an apocalypse. It will take them more time to understand the zombies’ nature and how their minds work.
