(BL) The Villain wants a Divorce!

Chapter 613: Well, there are worse things to get naked for

Cass maybe could have sympathy for different men. He could have cared about men who had not been told the full truth, reacted in a poor way and learned from their lesson, but from the look on Ava’s brother’s face at the very least, he was not sorry.

The father, however? There was room for him to grow. The son could be thrown out with the bathwater.

Cass was glad that at the end of the conversation, even if it was not the outcome that she had wanted, she accepted it gratefully. Cass wanted to offer her help to go scout the town and see if there was anything she wanted to do, but he didn’t have Ailia here. She would have to pretty much go on her own, but she would need some protection.

Cass was going to have to assign her a guard when she left the grounds, but that would have to wait. Cass told her honestly, since she was partially involved in this, that he had to do a bit of housekeeping now that he was back home. Her safety, along with the safety of other people he cared about, was at risk.

She took his words very seriously, nodding in agreement to his words, but bartered with him that if she couldn’t leave, it would make sense if she started learning the ways of the mansion. Even if temporary.

She was good, Cass would give her that. Cass just shook his head with a smile. She might not have been a handful for her husband, but Cass didn’t think that the same would apply to him. They ended up leaving the room and Cass was told by Byron that the Doctor had arrived and was waiting for him in his office. Cass sighed.

He still hadn’t been able to talk to Sir Forsythe, and while he had seen him in passing, it was clear that they both wanted to speak to each other. It was going to have to wait until after his Doctor’s visit. It left a bitter feeling in Cass’ mouth, but what else could he do? They would just have to circle each other for at least a few more hours, then they could talk.

Fuck, he hoped it went well.

Nervous, but not because he was speaking to a Doctor, Cass entered his own office to find that the Doctor had laid out his tools on the coffee table. It was probably the only spot that had been free when he had entered. Much of the stuff looked similar to what Cass could remember, kind of. It was a little blurry, if Cass was honest.

Maybe that was because of the situation he had last seen him in, or the merging of his two souls, but either worked as a valid excuse in his eyes.

"Doctor. Good to see you." Cass greeted, sounding genuine even to his ears. The Doctor raised their head, the hood falling back to reveal their antlers. They didn’t smile, their eyes focused as they scanned Cass, checking for any anomalies that they might have to deal with. When nothing was outwardly obvious, they met Cass’ red gaze and gave a brisk nod.

"I am glad to see that you are in a better condition. The air around you is more stable compared to what you were like before." The Doctor told him. That part was news to Cass. He had no idea that the air around him had been...not stable. He wondered if that was just some magic shit that they knew, or something that Cass probably knew but never bothered to tell Cass.

"Yes. Quite a bit has happened since you were last here." Cass told them honestly, taking off his sunglasses at the same time. He was in his own office, he was also going to have to ask about these damn eyes anyways. The Doctor chuckled, their eyes scanning the area around Cass.

"I can tell. Where is your husband, my Lord?" They asked and Cass froze. Cass hadn’t come alone to this meeting as well. He had Sam with him, like he’d had last time, but Edgar and Gideon had also insisted on coming since they wanted to be in the know.

Cass felt his face warm as the Doctor spoke of Lucian. His ’husband’.

"Uh, well, he’s away for personal reasons." Cass admitted quietly. "Species specific." Cass clarified and a look of understanding washed over the Doctor’s expression.

"Ah. Something personal then, Understood. Are these also your husbands?" The Doctor wasn’t stupid. They knew who Cass was, and yet they were asking these questions. Cass wondered if they were fucking with him.

Edgar, however, didn’t seem to mind or care.

"We are." He told the Doctor, a little too eager. The Doctor’s expression didn’t change, but he turned his gaze towards Gideon. Gideon gave a small nod.

"We would not leave him alone while doing something so personal." Gideon said and Cass turned to give him a strange look. Edgar chuckled.

"He means he doesn’t want him to be alone when telling a stranger, even one that is supposed to be trusted, what is going on." Edgar clarified while Cass felt his face warm. They were...being so damn embarrassing right now. In front of some random person too.

The Doctor looked at Cass and his flustered expression, almost seeming like they were going to laugh until something caught their eye. Their face went white as they moved towards Cass quickly and grabbed his face. They twisted Cass’ face from side to side, appearing horrified at what they were witnessing at the moment.

"What has happened to your eyes since I’ve seen you?" They demanded and Edgar didn’t help the situation.

"That is only the most recent development that has happened." Edgar told them and the Doctor looked horrified.

"More has happened on top of this?" They demanded and Cass gave a quick nod. The Doctor didn’t let go of Cass’ face, staring into Cass’ soul it felt like before they stepped back. "What has happened? Tell me or, show me if you are comfortable. I need to have as much of the picture as I can before I can help." They were serious, and Cass appreciated it. Cass did have a little chuckle to himself though.

"I promise you, Doc, this is going to be something I don’t think you’ve ever seen before." Cass muttered and Gideon’s gaze sharpened.

"Cass." He said warningly, and Cass gave him a strange look.

"What?" He asked and Gideon narrowed his green gaze.

"No more talking poorly of yourself. I could tell where your line of thought was going. There is nothing wrong with you." Gideon told him and the Doctor cleared their throat. Everyone looked towards them.

"While I appreciate the sentiment, I am the one who gets to decide that." They said coolly. Cass almost felt vindicated until the Doctor turned to them. "I will say this one thing, you are in much better condition than you were before. Whatever you decided to do, it’s working." Yeah, that didn’t sound like Cass was right at all.

That sounded like a professional telling all of them to take it down a notch so that they could do their job. Cass heard it, nodded, and gestured for everyone to sit down.

"This might take a moment. Shall we sit?" Cass suggested mildly and while the Doctor seemed uncomfortable, they did just that. They did refuse food and drink though, all business. Cass could respect that, and so he did by getting down to it.

The Doctor didn’t even flinch at Cass essentially admitting to being a demon in their presence. Cass was only telling them what was important for medical purposes, and the Doctor took everything in stride. They barely even blinked, up until Cass said that he had developed another sex organ.

That was when the Doctor looked shocked, gathered themselves rather quickly, and then leveled Cass with a look that sent shivers down his spine.

"May I be so bold as to ask you to show me?" The Doctor asked and Cass sat there, silent for a long moment. Even Edgar and Gideon were a little quiet, but it was Sam’s gentle hand on Cass’ shoulder that showed him what he should do.

So, even if he was very, very embarrassed to be naked in front of them again, Cass did so. It wasn’t for a bad purpose, and this time they were able to go to his bedroom at the very least for some privacy.

Cass wanted to banish Edgar and Gideon outside of the room, but Sam was once again, the one who spoke up and suggested that he might want them there as support. Cass scowled, but didn’t suggest it again.

He was glad that he didn’t.

The Doctor didn’t treat Cass oddly, he needed to make that clear. However, it was obvious that they were very, very curious about Cass’ condition and Gideon being Gideon, knew a lot about Cass and half of his bloodline. The other half, Cass had no one to speak on. He did reveal the secret to the Doctor after dancing around it.

The Doctor went white.

"That is supposed to be impossible." The Doctor whispered and Cass gave them a bitter, knowing smile.

"I am well aware of that, and yet, here I am, and my body is continuing to shift. In fact, my next...heat as we’re calling them is only a few days away. Thanks to finally finding out what my safe foods are, I have been able to mitigate some of the harder things that come with this body and build some muscle mass." Cass pointed out.

The Doctor had Cass on his back, his back and head propped up with pillows that Edgar had so graciously helped with, Cass’ legs spread wide while they examined what was going on between Cass’ legs.

While their questions were awkward, they weren’t leading. They were truly just trying to understand the situation better.

"I am glad to hear that you are able to come to some normalcy, even if your body is continuing to shift. I take it the...heart shape to your eyes is...normal?" They asked carefully and Gideon chuckled.

"For once, yes. For the more powerful bloodlines of demons, that’s what we’ve gathered. That comes from a close ally." Gideon said, clarifying that the information wasn’t written down, and that Sam had found that out for them.

The Doctor kept poking around, even as Cass flinched. However, they were being very practical. If he had developed a new sex organ, magical or otherwise, they should make sure that everything was okay.

It was a very awkward Doctor’s visit, but Cass found it very calming. Getting a clear bill of health from a Doctor was always a nice thing when nothing was wrong. They did make it clear that after his heat he should call for them again. They might need to monitor his changes if he was noticing his heat coming sooner and sooner.

A relief. One less thing he needed to constantly worry about. Someone was going to help him with it.
