Chapter 518: Getting down to the basics, with a witness
Edgar looked at Sam, and then looked at Gideon standing on either side of him. He took a deep breath in, held it to lower his racing heart, and then let it out.
"Could we...have a conversation? The three of us?" Edgar asked and Sam perked up. He had been staring silently at the doorway where the others had disappeared, his hands clasped behind his back. When Edgar spoke, he looked at him, really looked at him, and tilted his head to the side slightly. It was slightly unnerving, but Edgar didn’t react outwardly.
Gideon also seemed mildly surprised, like Edgar had startled him from his own thoughts.
"Well, Byron will likely be able to hear us, and he will be able to sense what I’m feeling, but sure, Lord Edgar. We can have a conversation with the three of us." Edgar was surprised to hear the words from Sam’s mouth. That sounded an awful like the bond that Cass and Lucy had, only Cass had been fighting against it ever since he got it.
Edgar wanted to ask about it, but something told him that Sam was waiting for him to do so. His senses were tingling, and being a man who trusted those senses, he did not speak of it.
"That’s fine. I have no plans to upset you. If anything, I think Gideon will be the most upset out of the three of us." Edgar said. "Maybe upset is the wrong way to phrase it, but he’ll be startled for sure." Edgar said. Gideon shifted, his brows coming down as he frowned in confusion at Edgar’s words.
"What would you want to speak about without the others around, Edgar?" Gideon asked and Edgar sighed.
"Well, whenever I try to talk with it being just the two of us, you suddenly turn into a fish and won’t leave my lips alone." Gideon’s face turned a shade close, but not quite the colour of his hair. Sam said nothing, because there was a reason that Cass kept him around.
"I-I-"
"Even in the dungeon. I was surprised that Cass didn’t ask any probing questions about why we took so long to come back a few times." Edgar said pointedly. Gideon took each blow to the chin, knowing that it was the truth. Edgar turned to Sam. "Which is why I would like you to be a witness, and we are going to talk about Cass’ condition and feeding. If I mess up on anything, I feel like you’ll be able to clarify." Edgar said.
Sam’s expression didn’t shift, not like when he was speaking to Cass. It was so fascinating to see that he was more reserved, more pulled into himself and composed when he wasn’t around Cass.
He was a remarkable actor, and Edgar was very happy that he was on his side. Edgar had a feeling that if he had remained on this man’s bad side for a little bit longer, Edgar’s life would be much harder.
"It is very wise to have me around then. I am used to keeping others in line." He said it so casually, but Edgar knew a threat when he heard one. Even Gideon glanced at the other man, but nodded.
"I understand that we need to speak about Cass and his feedings, but didn’t we already discuss that earlier?" Gideon asked and Edgar gave the man a look of pity.
"You think he needs to drink blood, but there’s another liquid that is far more potent to Cass, and is more like a snack to me." Edgar clarified. It was something that he had noted when he had helped Cass during his heat, but he hadn’t really had a chance to talk about it since. It was nice to know that they could both feed each other, since Edgar felt more like Cass’ portable food bank than anything else right now.
He could set up a camp, he could do a little spell, he could feed Cass in both his demon and fairy needs. He was a portable snack for his sweet little red-eyed bunny.
Gideon stared at Edgar blankly.
Edgar wanted to beat the temple for giving everyone a shitty education and capitalizing on it.
"Gideon, you have a penis, you have attraction to me, do not tell me that it has never gotten hard before." Edgar cut in, needing to get this out in the open. Gideon turned the colour of a tomato and glanced toward Sam, like he was expecting him of all people to be scandalised.
Sam had been cleaning up Cass for who knows how long, making sure that the man took care of himself and if he didn’t, he did it for him. He knew all about cum, Gideon was the one in the dark.
"A-Are we really going to talk about this in the open?" Gideon asked quietly and Sam let out the biggest sigh he’d ever heard the man make.
"He has to, Lord Gideon, because what my Lord sustains himself on is semen. Blood can work, but it’s a poor substitute. You should be well aware of it since he uses a powdered version of demon blood as a healing tonic." Gideon stared at Sam, his jaw on the floor.
"Semen?" He repeated, and Edgar nodded.
"Yes, Gideon. Semen. He could also sustain himself on the female equivalent but Cass is not...interested in that." Edgar told him. Gideon did not pick his jaw up off of the floor.
"That is what you’ve been feeding him this whole time? What Lucian has been feeding him?" Gideon asked, his voice going a little high with shock. Both Sam and Edgar nodded in unison.
"Yes. My Lord has actually starved for that kind of life force. He’s only been getting better and healthier because he has received a healthy dose of both types of food he needs to sustain himself regularly." Sam said, before his expression shifted slightly to displeasure. "Do I think that dragon has been over-feeding him? Yes, but my Lord has been underfed for so long that his body craves it." Sam grumbled, throwing in a complaint about the dragon who could not defend himself as he was not here.
Gideon stood, his hands loose at his sides. He had dropped them, taking his hand off of his precious new sword.
"Did he consent to this?" Gideon asked, his voice low. Edgar blinked, as did Sam, before both men’s opinions of Gideon grew better.
"At first he was unaware of what he needed, and I was unable to say. I cannot speak for him, so I will hold my tongue." Sam said. "What I can say is that it was probably a rather confusing and concerning time for him. I know now that it is the case." Sam said? Giving Edgar a pointed look.
"Anything moving forward is, and has been for a while." Edgar confirmed. Gideon’s jaw tightened as he closed his mouth.
"Was there a period of time where it wasn’t?" He asked and Edgar gave Gideon a pitying look.
"You were actively looking for a reason to kill him, Gideon. While I appreciate your concern, now is not the time. We can have that conversation with Cass and hear his opinions on it." Edgar told him. Gideon lost some of the edge in his eyes, but Edgar knew it wasn’t over.
"So...he eats it?" Gideon asked after a long pause. Edgar coughed.
"More like drinks it. Lucy gave him a flask before he went into the dungeon. That was full of semen." Gideon looked like everything he had ever known was collapsing in on itself.
"What? How can-is that-" Gideon cut himself off, his hand covering his mouth. Edgar chuckled, smiling slightly.
"No, it’s not a normal amount. Lucy has said that he can cum whenever Cass wants him to, and so far, he hasn’t proven his words wrong. A normal man could not fill a flask so quickly, or if ever. Even I, with my slightly more advanced constitution because of my own demon blood, can’t keep up." Edgar admitted. Sam was nodding along with his words.
"That’s because my Lord’s nature is that of a sex demon. He will have a ravenous desire until his body deems him fit, then it might slow down." He said. "He’ll probably be better fed from down below, but I am not one to pry into my Lord’s private life." Sam said. Gideon raised a hand, halting them.
"Wait, this is a lot to take in. Next you are going to tell me that it is possible for two men to have intercourse!" There was a long moment of silence before Gideon looked like he had swallowed a bug. "They can?"
"With a bit of practise and patience, yes." Edgar said. Gideon looked like he was going to faint. "Which is why I needed to have this conversation. I can’t feed Cass alone. I’m incapable of satiating him properly, and with his heat coming up soon, I need to plan. Lucy doesn’t want us to have full sex. He wants to be here when it happens for both of us, and I want to respect his wishes, as does Cass." Edgar could see the man growing a little faint, so he sped up his speaking. "I don’t expect you to participate. Of course, you couldn’t without Cass saying it was okay, but I need someone to hold me accountable." Edgar swallowed. "I wouldn’t be able to hold myself back if Cass begged me."
Sam gave Edgar a look, and Edgar wasn’t sure if it was pity or not. It felt like it was, like he was making fun of him for not having enough willpower, but Sam had never been on the receiving end of a begging, pleading, watery-eyed Cass. With fingers wandering where even Edgar was a little hesitant to go.
It was not a fair battle. If he hadn’t known what Cass was around that time, Edgar would have been able to fucking guess after.
"What does that mean?" Gideon asked carefully, and Edgar sighed.
"Well, my guess would be to supply Cass with some semen maybe once a day? It can be in a cup and you don’t have to do it in front of him. That doesn’t seem to matter." Edgar told him, reminded of the several times that Lucy had done so. "Though, it does help you get closer if you um, do it together." Edgar said, his cheeks tingling as he felt his face warm. Gideon was also blushing.
"You’ll be doing the same?" He asked and Edgar nodded.
"I want Cass to be as strong as he possibly can. Seeing what he would be capable of if he was at his best in the dungeon really...motivated me." Edgar admitted and Gideon’s expression grew serious. He raised a hand, gripping the back of his neck as he thought long and hard about what Edgar had said.
"I want to read up on this before I agree to anything. I feel like I am missing a lot of pieces here, and I don’t want to ask for help visualising this without knowing how it works. Are there any books in the library that might help me?" He asked and Edgar opened and closed his mouth, before he turned to look at Sam.
"Do you think Cass has any of his books that he has read and is willing to spare to Gideon? I’m sure he knows how well he keeps his books since Gideon was the only one with full access to the other library in our main home." Edgar asked the aide. Sam paused, before he nodded.
"I’ll ask my Lord before I go fetch it, but I can’t see a reason not to. If I recall, the book is also between a demon and priest, so it might have even more information regarding the situation you seem to find yourselves in." Sam said and Gideon looked relieved.
Edgar had to turn his head to the side to hide his smile. Oh, he knew that Gideon would be pulling him to the side to ask him about what he was reading. Or worse, he’d ask Cass. He kind of wanted to be around when that happened. It had made Lucy look a little flushed.
