(BL) The Villain wants a Divorce!

Chapter 255: A rather gay foyer

Mr. Collins shuffled towards the front doors of the estate after Cass finished his little moment with his new staff. The maid who had spoken up for the group joined Mr. Collins at the door as the man continued to fumble. Cass almost snorted out a laugh, but controlled himself.

He did wonder for a brief moment how they got into the estate if they didn’t have a key for it, but then again, they were magical creatures, hired to take care of the estate, so Cass just watched without saying anything.

Eventually, the doors were open, Mr. Collins was sweating like a sinner in church, and Cass moved towards the doors first. Mr. Collins then wiped his forehead with the sleeve of his jacket, grinning at Cass as he gestured towards the estate.

"Well, my Lord. Come look at your new capital home." Mr. Collins said warmly, a little nervously. The man couldn’t be more nervous.

Cass could hear the carriage coming back down the dirt road, felt his lips twitch up, before he started moving towards Mr. Collins. A small look of relief on Mr. Collins face as Cass moved towards him without any more prompting, and Cass could feel how the rest of the group was moving behind him.

They hadn’t wanted to move before he did, and Cass appreciated it.

The estate itself from the outside was wrapped with twisting, winding vines. Several pretty rose bushes sat beneath windows, and several of the windows on the lower level had little planters attached to the windows. Cass couldn’t see any on the upper levels, but he could tell that several of the windows were open, and gossamer-like curtains draped in several of the lower windows while the upper levels appeared to have more substantial curtains. Probably because the upper levels were bedrooms while the lower levels were for day to day activities.

The doors were heavy, wooden, and looked ancient. Sturdy. Edgar let out a little whistle as they all approached, his hand reaching out to grip the door tentatively.

"This is...nice." Edgar said, his tone envious. "Whoever built this did a good job." He said and Cass could tell that the older maids liked that praise. They didn’t speak up of course, but he could tell they were happy.

Cass turned his attention to the space past the doors, and almost laughed.
