Neon veins traced the walls, pulsing in slow rhythm like a digital heartbeat.
The reception desk was front and center, manned—or rather, holo-manned—by a shimmering AI projection of a sharply dressed attendant, complete with a glowing smile and polite dead eyes.
I stepped up to the desk, my card in hand. Might as well take initiative since I was the guy with the currency.
"Hello," I said, deadpan. "Room for two. How much does it cost?"
The AI shimmered for a moment, its hollow gaze scanning me. Green lights flickered briefly in its irises—probably checking my RHB balance and level data.
