Chapter 55. Queen Cobra
I coughed awkwardly, scratching the back of my head as the heat of the situation started to make me feel uneasy. "See, let me explain..."
The group wasn’t having any of it. One of the boys from the back stepped forward, his face a mask of irritation. "What can you possibly explain?!"
A voice from behind added fuel to the fire. "There were for us to get points from, not for you!"
I barely had a chance to speak before another girl screamed, "Yeah, he’s a kill-stealer!! He should be punished!"
I sighed inwardly, bracing for the inevitable chaos.
Another voice joined in, egging the mob on. "Yeah! He should be—"
And then, to my surprise, the same boy with the square face—the one I’d already threatened—stepped up again. He had a grimace on his face as he declared, "Guys, he must be punished. He just stole all of our points. Any ideas?"
The crowd seemed to grow restless, murmurs rippling through the group. Some were glaring at me, others were pointing accusing fingers, but the voices were all the same:
Punish. Punish. Punish.
Then, one of the girls—she had a look of determination that could’ve made a general pause in his tracks—screamed. "He should accompany me at night!!"
Everything went deathly quiet. A tension built up in the air as all eyes turned to me, then back to her. The boys looked at me with suspicion, while the girls locked their eyes on her, like they were plotting something more sinister than any punishment.
