Chapter 114: Cleaning Up the Mess
Chapter 114: Cleaning Up the Mess
The seven thieves lay dead. Almost all of them had been killed by Lily and Stevie. I had only helped a little. The security team had done nothing — they had just watched."Ah, um..."
Captain Copeland spoke hesitantly.
"Please, I have a request!"
Lily said in a strong tone,
"You must report that all of these men were dealt with by you, the security team. We, Stevie and I, Lord Robby, only watched. Absolutely do not speak the truth. We did not fight — you fought, understood?!"
She declared this to the captain with such force that he stammered,
"Y-yes, I understand..."
But he still looked unconvinced and asked cautiously,
"I understand, but why?"
Lily glared at him.
"That’s because if you say you fought, people will blame Lord Robby for being involved in danger. If that happens, Lord Robby will never be allowed to join the security team again. In my opinion, tonight was a great chance for Lord Robby to show his courage and strength. So, do not utter a single word of the truth! Do you understand? And you lot over there too!"
Lily scanned the surroundings with a chilling glare. The men all bowed their heads and muttered, "Heh~..."
After that, to dispose of the bodies, the captain sent someone somewhere to call a cart.
Lily, Stevie, and I kept our distance from the security team and the corpses.
"Lord Robby, you’re all dirty," Stevie whispered while tugging at my sleeve.
"Lord Robby, can you use ’Purity’? Try using it once, please?" Lily suggested.
"Got it."
I turned my back to the security team and cast,
Purity.
A faint glow spread in a circle of about 50 cm centered on my palm. Only the blood stains inside the circle faded. The darkness made the remaining stains clearly visible, so I tried again.
Purity.
Since I hadn’t absorbed as much blood as them, the effect was weaker, and most of the stains almost disappeared.
"Lord Robby, use it on me too," Stevie tugged at my clothes.
"Got it. Look, Purity. It’s not gone yet... Purity... Purity a little more..."
After repeating it several times, Stevie’s clothes finally became mostly clean. The effect was gradually weakening.
"Can’t it get any cleaner?" Lily peered at me. Of course not — some things could be cleaned, others couldn’t. I had no choice but to try once more.
Purity.
Whoa, there was a momentary dizziness. Lily caught me as I staggered. My hand on her chest felt nothing unusual through her clothes.
"Lord Robby is perverted."
That’s such a nostalgic phrase, but I felt like my mana was running out.
