Chapter 56: While the Royal Palace is in an Uproar
While both the royal palace and the rear palace were in chaos, I stayed shut up in my room, sitting quietly. With nothing else to do, I naturally started reminiscing about everything that had happened since I came to this world. What came to mind were all the erotic events that would have been impossible in my previous life. Those mental signals traveled straight down to my lower half, and what was supposed to get hard, got hard.A young body really is something else. Just using my own hand and the images in my head was enough to take care of it. Thanks to having learned "Purification," all I had to do was use the cloth draped over a drink nearby to catch what came out. It had really become convenient.
Using Cass as material, Countess Rosette as material, Lily as material, and even Linda and Miss Marin—who I hadn’t gotten that far with yet—as material, I managed a full five shots and still had plenty left in the tank.
But since my mind is that of a 30-year-old, I thought I really should stop at some point. I’d heard somewhere that doing it too much could hinder growth, so I figured I should probably hold back.
With nothing else to do, I went out onto the roof from my room and moved around up there for some light exercise. Down in the palace gardens, they were probably preparing the Knight Order’s reinforcement unit. A large number of people were carrying and gathering supplies. The sun had already passed its peak and was beginning to tilt (around 3 PM by Japanese standards), so there was no way they’d depart today. They’d probably leave tomorrow morning before sunrise, once it got bright.
I’d heard that multiple knight companies come together to form a knight order. I wondered how many companies were sent with the previous subjugation force, and how many would be sent this time. Did this country not have a standing army? Was the Knight Order serving as the military instead? Maybe the Knight Order was the only permanent force, and in times of war they’d conscript farmers to become soldiers?
Since the Crown Prince himself had gone with the first subjugation force, who would command this next one? Probably someone of similar high status. I had time to think about it, but no one was going to tell me. Cass probably didn’t know the details either. Lily, on the other hand, felt like she might.
I scanned the knights below, wondering if I could spot Miss Marin, but from up here they were just rice-grain-sized heads. There was no way I could tell. All I could do was hope she wouldn’t have to go somewhere so dangerous.
"Lord Robby."
I turned around at the voice and saw Lily. She had climbed onto the roof still wearing her maid uniform.
"You weren’t in your room, so I came straight up here."
Lily’s face was stiff. She wasn’t wearing her usual slightly sarcastic smile; her expression was completely devoid of emotion. What happened? Even with all the turmoil in the palace, I didn’t think it would affect Lily this much.
"Lord Robby, Stevie will not be coming tonight. Or rather, considering her mental state, I don’t think it would be possible."
"What’s wrong? Did something happen to Stevie?"
"Stevie’s older brother... has passed away. He was serving close to His Highness the Crown Prince and apparently died together with him."
"Eh!? Is that true? Are you sure? I heard he was participating in the subjugation force, but he was in a place like that?"
