And she was angry.
Her nails pressed into his hand as they danced, not hard enough to hurt—but sharp enough to send a message. She hissed and demanded an explanation.
And maybe he deserved every bit of it.

Her voice was low, tightly controlled, but furious. "You broke the secret agreement."
Secret agreement... The words echoed in his mind like a bitter joke.
