Chapter 286: Don’t Bully My Sister
"Young Master Qin, what are you looking at? Could she possibly look better than me?"
The woman tried hard to lean closer to Qin Yumo. Her figure was exceptional, accentuated in all the right places, and despite the freezing weather, she wore only a short skirt, blatantly flaunting herself.
She knew men usually couldn’t resist this type of seduction.
Qin Yumo did like women like her, but at this moment, he seemed irritated. He glared at her fiercely and spat, "Get out."
"Mr. Qin, what did you say?" She seemed in disbelief that Qin Yumo would say such a thing to her and continued to act coy. "Mr. Qin, did Xiangxiang do something wrong? Xiangxiang apologizes. How about... you let me give you a kiss?"
As she spoke, she leaned in closer.
Qin Yumo looked at her overly made-up face. The woman was indeed attractive, and he’d first noticed her at a gathering with his friends, which prompted him to bring her along.
Recently, he’d been living like this—using women to distract himself after being crushed emotionally by Yun Shifei. It was his way of reverting to his old playboy habits, mingling with various women.
But now, glancing at the girl not far away, then at the woman eagerly waiting for his kiss in front of him—
One was pure and refreshing, the other vulgar and tiresome. Qin Yumo no longer had the mood to play along with her.
He spoke coldly, "I’ll give you three seconds. If you’re not out of this car, I’ll kick you out myself."
Despite the playful look Qin Yumo usually carried, with his charming eyes and his habit of sweet-talking women into joy, deep down, he had never respected them. To him, they were merely toys.
When he got mad, the woman understood his nature well enough to know he was serious. Panicked, she quickly climbed out of the car before she could say more. But the engine roared, and in an instant, the car sped away.
The woman, shivering in her skimpy dress in the cold wind, stomped her feet in anger as she stared at Qin Yumo’s departing car. "Just because you’re some rich young master, you think you own the world?"
The reason Qin Yumo sped off impatiently was because he had seen Yun Shifei board a bus.
Without thinking, he wanted to follow her—to see what Yun Shifei was up to.
The bus moved at a leisurely pace, stopping frequently to let passengers on and off. But Qin Yumo remained unfazed, patiently trailing behind.
This stop-and-go followed for nearly an hour before he saw Yun Shifei alight from the bus.
He couldn’t help but feel puzzled. This was the other end of Beijing, a relatively remote suburban area. What could Yun Shifei be doing here?
Qin Yumo watched the girl’s silhouette from a distance as he carefully maneuvered the car, trailing her quietly. Eventually, he noticed the place she stopped—unexpectedly, it was an orphanage!
The girl seemed familiar with the gatekeeper, offering a greeting before heading inside.
Qin Yumo hesitated for a moment but parked the car nearby and followed Yun Shifei inside.
He himself didn’t know why he was here or why he couldn’t let her go, even though he knew Yun Shifei had a boyfriend.
To be fair, Qin Yumo had always adhered to one principle: never getting involved with women who were already taken.
But he reasoned to himself, judging by how Yun Shifei interacted with Cheng Lie, they didn’t seem like a couple at all but rather like close friends.
He couldn’t simply believe her words; he needed to investigate further.
Inside the orphanage, Yun Shifei handed out items she had brought to the children. Then she helped the aunties clean up the place.
The headmistress watched Yun Shifei with an uneasy smile.
"Shi Fei, every time you come here, you do so much work. You’re still just a student and don’t have any income. You don’t always need to bring food and supplies for the kids."
Yun Shifei smiled lightly. "It’s okay. When I don’t have classes, I work part-time. Besides, buying these things didn’t cost much."
The headmistress nodded.
After chatting for a while, Yun Shifei went on to look for Fang Kaiyi.
Fang Kaiyi had grown increasingly cheerful; he was already playing games with the other children.
When Yun Shifei found him, he was in the middle of playing "Red Light, Green Light" with the kids.
Seeing Yun Shifei come out from the headmistress’s office, Fang Kaiyi abandoned the game and beamed. "Sister!"
"Xiao Yi, hello." She patted Fang Kaiyi’s hair.
"What about Brother? Didn’t he come today?"
"Brother is busy today."
After hearing this, Fang Kaiyi paused for a while and then said to Yun Shifei, "Sister, you don’t need to visit me all the time. I’m living well here at the orphanage. The aunties treat me kindly, and I have so many good friends."
This child, he was so incredibly thoughtful and mature for his age.
Yun Shifei smiled warmly. "It’s nothing. Sister likes Xiao Yi and wants to see you often."
Watching how Fang Kaiyi had grown from an isolated and introverted child to someone gradually opening up, Yun Shifei felt deeply comforted.
She couldn’t help but wonder: if she had met Cheng Lie back in the day, might she also have helped him emerge from his shadows?
Even though his so-called autism was feigned back then, now that he had stopped pretending, he still remained cold and reserved—a thought that tugged at her heartstrings.
"So you come to the orphanage often? That’s pretty kind-hearted of you." A voice suddenly piped up from behind Yun Shifei.
The voice carried a teasing, lazy tone that instantly wiped away Yun Shifei’s cheerful mood.
Her pulse quickened with anxiety.
Qin Yumo!
Why was he here?
Yun Shifei immediately stood up and turned around.
Qin Yumo stood just one step behind her, a cigarette dangling from his mouth, his mischievous peach blossom eyes slightly narrowed as if he were scheming something.
When Yun Shifei saw his cigarette, her anger flared fast and strong, even surpassing her fear. She snatched the cigarette from his mouth, threw it to the ground, stomped it out, then wrapped it in a tissue and tossed it into the trash bin.
All the while, she snapped, "No smoking here."
There were children around, and the thought of them inhaling secondhand smoke infuriated her.
Yun Shifei thought to herself: Qin Yumo really was an awful person.
Looking at her puffed-up expression, with her fear of him slightly diminished, her animated display made Qin Yumo feel like teasing her.
"What’s wrong with smoking? Do you know, wherever I choose to smoke, no one has ever dared to stop me?"
His comment earned him a fierce glare from the girl.
"Anyway, you’re not allowed to smoke here!" Yun Shifei wanted to scold him further, but after several attempts to form harsher words, she could only squeeze out this one sentence.
Qin Yumo chuckled softly. How on earth was this girl raised to be so obedient? Even his own sister wasn’t as sweet as this.
With Qin Yumo’s presence making Yun Shifei feel uneasy, she decided it was best to leave. She glanced at Fang Kaiyi, "Xiao Yi, Sister has to go now. I’ll visit you again next time."
Qin Yumo immediately grasped the unusual bond between the little boy and Yun Shifei.
"Who’s this kid? Why are you so good to him?"
"None of your business."
With those words, Yun Shifei marched out, unwilling to let Qin Yumo cause trouble for the child.
Qin Yumo gave Fang Kaiyi another curious glance. Fang Kaiyi, catching the implicit hostility Yun Shifei had for Qin Yumo, instinctively felt the urge to protect her. Puffing up his little chest, he declared, "You’re not allowed to bully my sister!"
