I Married My Ex's Billionaire Father

Chapter 240: Get Out And Never Come Back

The grand Welhaven mansion loomed before them, a monument to wealth and power, its imposing facade bathed in the soft glow of the evening lights. Lottie and Brooke, dressed in their most elegant attire, approached the imposing entrance, their hearts pounding with a mixture of anticipation and trepidation. They were about to confront the past, to claim their place in a legacy that had been shrouded in secrets and lies.

They drove into the grounds of the house in their leased car without too much of a fuss, and the heavy oak doors swung open, revealing a foyer of breathtaking opulence. A butler, his expression impassive, led them through a series of lavishly decorated rooms, their footsteps echoing softly on the marble floors. They were ushered into a grand salon, where an elderly woman sat in a high-backed armchair, her gaze distant, her expression fragile.

This was Faye Welhaven, Maeve and Ophelia’s mother, a woman whose mind had been ravaged by time and grief. She looked up as Lottie and Brooke entered, her eyes flickering with a momentary spark of recognition.

"Maeve?" she whispered, her voice frail and trembling. "Is that you, Maeve?"

Lottie stepped forward, her smile warm and reassuring. "No, Mrs. Welhaven," she said gently. "My name is Lottie, and this is your granddaughter, Brooke."

Faye’s eyes widened, her gaze shifting to Brooke. "Brooke?" she echoed, her voice laced with confusion. "But... I thought that Maeve was coming to see me."

"I am Maeve’s daughter," Brooke said, her voice clear and confident. "I am here to meet my family... to meet you."

Faye’s expression shifted, her eyes filling with tears. "My Maeve," she whispered, her voice breaking. "My beautiful daughter."

She reached out a trembling hand, her fingers grasping Brooke’s. "You’re just like her," she said, her voice barely audible. "Just like her."
