Chapter 333
"Wife? Amelia was not to marry you. I have already promised her to someone else and they were on the way. Amelia cannot marry someone from the north!" Richard yelled, angered by this news.
He made a deal with a neighbouring kingdom for Amelia to marry one of the princes so their kingdoms would be united. With the armies of two kingdoms, the Blackwells would have stormed the north. Even though he was dead, this plan was supposed to be continued.
"She already did and so much time has passed since we wed. It might only feel like you have been here for a day, but more time has passed. Your nephew took to the throne, but he has lost it. He is now somewhere in the underworld with you. Here in this special place for people like you. Do you like it?" Killian asked, looking around the small room.
Though it was specially made for royals, it was nothing like the castle Richard once lived in. It was small and only appeared big when the torture started. If Richard were to somehow break out of the rope tied around him and get out of his room, he would think he was running out of here and all over the underworld, but it would just be the tiny room playing with his mind.
"Underworld?" Richard replied, looking at the walls of the room which had no windows to see the outside of where he was now.
If this was the underworld, he should not be here. He should have moved on to the world the priests said awaited him. He was once a king therefore it was not the underworld that he was meant to be in. He was meant to be in a happy place that would continue to treat him like a king.
"Yes. You know the place where demons live, souls pass through for it to be decided which realm they should go in, and people like you are tortured. It is my real home and now, your home. I hope they have been treating you well. As your son-in-law, I will make sure they pay special attention to you," Killian said.
"This is your home? You’re a demon," Richard realised the truth. He thrashed and turned to get out of the rope holding him.
"So you didn’t know. Your mother had no faith in telling you the truth. A descendant of priests who was also a king not having the slightest clue about the people in the north. You could have teamed up with your mother and made weapons to kill demons with, but she kept you in the dark. You would have still died, but you might have lived longer."
