The Throne Is Mine

Chapter 329

"Stop following me or I will change my mind and turn around to kill you," Killian said to Cyrus since he smelled the bastard following him. It would be good to kill the man and toss his body in the underworld where Amelia would find him, but Lilith would find out and he doubted she would keep her mouth closed.

"Amelia has denied those rumours about us, but you still seem to think they were true. Amelia and I were never together," Cyrus repeated for the hundredth time. He had hoped by now that no one believed that ridiculous lie that started in this castle and that Killian would stop eyeing him like he wanted Amelia.

"There was no need to tell me that as I am aware you were never with my wife. If I believed it, you would be long dead," Killian replied.

"By now you should be able to trust Amelia. She would never-"

"It is not my wife I worry about. It is the fools around her like you who could not do one simple task and now my wife is in danger. It infuriates me that her life was once in your hands and the hands of the guards who ran the first chance they got. Imbeciles," Killian muttered, tempted to find all of them and kill them.

Spending time in this castle showed him how little Amelia lived as a princess. From the moment she entered the North, he treated her like a queen. There was nothing good about this castle that suited her. She deserved the finest things and this castle was just a rundown place with gold shown off at every corner to show a bit of wealth.

All the money was going into clothes and whatever interests Richard had then Fraser.

"I might not be a fighter like you, but I have kept Amelia protected. I owed her my life and I swore that I would die trying to protect her if needed. If you are still upset about the day you stumbled upon her carriage, I was pinned down by your hellhound and severely outnumbered. The Blackwell guards did not heed my warning to turn around," said Cyrus.

The Blackwells could have put up a fight the day Killian found Amelia alone in the carriage if the guards had just listened to Cyrus. He sensed Killian was near and tried to warn them, but their dislike for him being from the North cost them their lives.
