Chapter 308
"Why are you laughing? I am being serious," Killian said after Amelia’s laughter died down.
"Because you were telling me a joke. You really want me to believe that we got married what felt like yesterday and now today I have a child inside of me. Not just any child, but a demon who is feeding on my soul so I have to feed on souls from the underworld. It is funny," Amelia laughed, wiping tears from her eyes.
"What other child would it be other than a demon when you have a demon husband? This is not something I would joke about. If it is too much of a shock for you, you should lie down and think-"
Amelia abruptly stood up. "How am I to lie down when you are claiming that I am already carrying our child and I have eaten a soul? You are closer to me than Lilith. It must be a trick since you did not notice. Isn’t it?"
"I will admit that I still do not sense anything different about you, but it would make sense now why you were affected by holy water when you are just a human. The child inside of you is not so safe from holy water. I thought we were both open to having children. That was why I never made any effort to pull away from you. Is it not what you want?" Killian questioned.
"I am open to us having a child, but I thought it would happen at a normal pace like everyone else. You know, like a few weeks from now you would sense something and by then the kingdom would be back to some good order so we only needed to worry about one thing at a time. I didn’t think I would have to be careful with how I moved so fast. And if Lilith has sensed it already, how fast will it grow? I am already aware of the souls," Amelia continued to rant.
Killian decided to let her get her concerns out. He only wished there were grapes in the room for him to eat while she wrapped her mind around them having a child. It solved his problem of having to figure out why holy water affected her.
He wondered if the witches would turn Margaret back to her old self to tell her the news and then turn her back into a toad.
Amelia walked back and forth, trying to plan where they would have to go from this point on. It was still dangerous in the Blackwell castle and in the north for her to be walking around with a child growing inside of her. "Let us assume that since you have not noticed anything, there is no child yet," she concluded.
"How would you explain the holy water? Lilith would not joke about children since she would not like to fool a woman about it. She loves children. It is shown by how she treats her own-"
"Lilith and Lucifer have children? Why do they never speak of them? They both act like it is just the two of them," Amelia said, sitting back down on the bed.
"The two of them are always on top of each other and they have been married for years. The first child was before they got married. And I think the second and third also. I cannot keep up with it," Killian replied, not interested in Lucifer’s children when this was their moment. "There are many children spread out all over the underworld. Some are in deep slumber because they are not all there in the head."
