Chapter 211
"Killian!" Amelia exclaimed and tried to back away from him but there was still the wall behind her. She pushed his shoulders to stop him from biting her or whatever he intended to do. "What are you doing?" She asked, her voice laced with panic.
Killian snapped out of what had come over him when he noticed the fear in Amelia’s eyes. "Shit," he muttered, pulling out of her and placing her feet down on the floor. He palmed his face as he tried to make sense of what was happening.
"Were you going to bite me?" Amelia asked, still in shock about it. She could handle the hair and eyes changing or even what appeared to be tiny horns on his head but it was taking a moment to process the fact it seemed like he wanted to bite her. Maybe it was something demons liked to do.
"Probably," Killian answered honestly. He wouldn’t have grown fangs at the moment if he wasn’t going to. He touched his teeth to see if they had gone back to normal. The fangs were no longer there.
"Oh. As something intimate or to eat me?" Amelia hugged her body. They were both standing around stark naked and confused about what happened. Killian’s disbelief about his actions worried her as it seemed he wasn’t thinking straight when he tried to do it.
"Could be a mixture of both. I thought of biting you like I was hungry. I need to leave for a moment," Killian said, leaving her side to get his clothes. The image of the fear in her eyes was not easy to get over. The one thing he tried hard not to do happened in such an intimate moment.
"I don’t want to be here by myself. I am sure you wouldn’t hurt me. It was just a simple mistake from the heat of the moment or maybe demons normally bite each other in moments like this? Do not leave me, Killian," Amelia pleaded with him. One because she didn’t want to be alone and two, his leaving would put their relationship in a weird place.
"I won’t go anywhere far and I will be back shortly," Killian continued to get dressed.
Amelia wanted to say more to convince him to stay but she couldn’t find the right words to make him stay when she already asked him to. Maybe he really was going to harm her and would not have stopped if she didn’t push him away so he needed a moment away from her. She wished he would be open now with what he was feeling so she wouldn’t need to guess.
"I will only be gone for a few minutes," Killian promised, handing Amelia her dress. He needed space to clear his head and get rid of the growing thoughts of how good it would be to eat her soul.
Killian had eaten many souls from the living and picked off a few souls wandering around in the underworld. Never would he have thought the soul of his wife was something he would want to eat especially when he didn’t have a hunger like other demons. It was the downside of marrying a human who turned out to be a golden child. Her soul would be quite the treat for him.
"No," Amelia grabbed his hand instead of her dress. "You are not leaving me here for even just one second. I don’t know why you suddenly turned full demon but you snapped out of it. Is it because I pushed you away? Of course I would be scared then. You changed in a blink of an eye and then your teeth," she paused as she tried to get rid of the memory. "I am not afraid of you, Killian. I was just surprised."
