Chapter 162
"That is not as romantic as you think it sounds, Killian. It is like a crazy stalker and I don’t need any more of those. The last one was already hard to get rid of. Now that he is gone, do you mind telling me why you came up to this world?" Amelia asked, unable to hold back her curiosity. "I won’t judge or run away from you."
Killian leaned in his chair to get a better look at her. "Couldn’t wait until we go back to our room?" He asked.
"No," Amelia replied with an innocent smile.
"It is not a story that is entertaining as you would like it to be. I came here because I was interested in learning more about your kind. After years of listening to the sins that trapped them in the underworld, I wanted to see their lives before their punishment. I eventually got stuck as king. The end," he finished.
Amelia wasn’t amused by the conversation as she already heard about his interest in her kind. She expected something more like destruction and chaos. Like he killed a bunch of people or something. "I have secrets that are worse than that," she muttered.
Alastor glanced at Killian who looked at him at the same time. He wondered if this would be the first of many lies Killian would tell his wife.
’He’s not telling the truth,’ Amelia thought. She put on the act of believing Killian’s words but just like everyone else in the castle, he was a demon. She trusted him to some degree but that didn’t mean she believed every word that left his mouth. There were times that she was going to lie to him so she expected that he would do the same to her.
She wasn’t in a rush to learn of Killian’s past when their wedding was only a day away. It was inevitable for the two of them to wed and on her wedding day, she would rather not be thinking about his past. Knowing she was marrying a demon was already scary enough.
Amelia cleared her mind of worries when her plate was placed before her with roasted meat and vegetables. First, they made her wedding dress a bit tight, and now they were feeding her food that would not make it easier for her to fit inside of it.
’Is this a test for me to not eat?’ She cried on the inside.
"Why aren’t you eating? Is it not to your liking?" Killian asked, ready to send it back if it wasn’t.
