Chapter 155
Amelia returned to the castle before nightfall and before she could rest her feet, she had been bombarded with questions about her wedding and measured for her wedding dress. She threw Gina into the chaos by having her help with the details of the wedding. When it came to things like this, Gina was more helpful. Amelia was never one to know what to decorate with or what needed to be added to a dress. She was always more curious about politics.
Amelia walked the halls back to the room she shared with Killian with Cyrus right behind her. Alastor had gone off somewhere as soon as they had returned. "I wish to do nothing else but sleep. I don’t know if I can walk to the dining hall to eat dinner," she said.
It took everything in her body to not be graceful and drag her feet to her bedroom.
"You did well today princess. You might not have won over everyone’s hearts but they are intrigued by you. That is a start,’ said Cyrus.
"I don’t know if I want any more demons intrigued by me. I am marrying one who found me to be intriguing and I do not need any more taking interest in me. However, I did enjoy touring the kingdom. It’s too bad we could not reach everywhere today. The north is not like I have read in books. My ancestors should have worked with the north instead of fighting it. Do you think the Blackwells knew about your kind at some point?"
Cyrus didn’t see how they would have known about demons and survived or at least pass down this knowledge to future kings. Richard might have left the north alone had he known about their secrets but if there was a chance he knew and kept attacking, the man had to be delusional in thinking he would win.
"No," Cyrus replied.
"My grandmother told me the history of her family being priests. They would go around killing demons with special water they found. She got married to my grandfather because of the weapons her family used. The temple was meant to defend the castle from your kind. At some point, one of my relatives besides my grandmother must have known. It is odd how many books with information about the north were missing from the royal library," Amelia said, suspicious of the secrets in her old home.
There was nothing she could put past anyone in that castle. If there was anyone who knew about demons or if the kings were hiding that information, Amelia expected to hear of it soon. Fraser could never keep his mouth shut and since he was always afraid of being killed, his actions would prove he was aware of the demon’s existence. She predicted he would have the borders closed and hide away deep in the castle.
"What has been hidden will be revealed soon. I can’t think about that now as there is something I need to do."
