Chapter 147
Alastor wanted to tell her that was far from the truth but seeing that she liked her little delusional thoughts, he decided to leave her be. He felt like someone was drilling a hole into his head and looked beside the princess at her maid. He stared back at Gina, not even the slightest bit scared by how she was looking at him. He was surprised she made it through the night or even handled being told about demons. She was mentally stronger than he thought.
Alastor looked out the window, not enjoying the stare-down. Now that they were out of the castle grounds Gina would soon be begging him for help instead of glaring at him. They were all kinds of creatures that crawled out of the underworld in Killian’s absence and he was here to send them back before they made it down the mountain.
Killian gave him this task to force him into going with the princess to protect her. This job would be finished quickly if wasn’t with the princess and instead flying around the mountain.
"So Alastor, what do you like?" Amelia asked.
Alastor looked away from the window, surprised by her interest in his hobbies. He didn’t answer her question and just looked at her.
"I can see smoke in the distance which means we are near a village but it is still a little while until we get there. How about we get to know each other? You and I will be around each other in the future. We should at least be cordial so we don’t get on each other’s nerves. It wouldn’t hurt to ask each other some questions," said Amelia.
"Very well. What pushed you to kill your father?" Alastor asked as he had been curious about how someone as weak and innocent looking as her could have the stomach to kill her father.
Gina looked to her side at Amelia in shock. "Amelia," she started but couldn’t finish the sentence.
"I reached a breaking point," Amelia replied with a smile. Of course, Alastor would know what she had done. She couldn’t place if Killian had told him or if he was there that night also watching her. "Being sent off to another kingdom to get married was the last straw. Is that a good enough answer?"
