Chapter 139
’She’s trying too hard,’ Amelia thought.
Amelia picked up on the fact Jahi wasn’t trying to be friendly. She was used to fake smiles and conversations like this thanks to her many years in the castle and around nobles. Jahi was child’s play compared to everyone else. Still, she wasn’t going to call it out as there was nothing she could benefit from doing so and Cyrus was enjoying them all together.
’I need to keep an eye on her. Since she still harbors a lot of anger toward my family there is a possibility she would team up with anyone here to get rid of me. Why does she have to put Cyrus through this? Should I send them both away before something bad happens?’ Amelia seriously considered it though she would hate to see Cyrus leave.
Jahi would focus on her hatred and not the trouble she could find herself in. Specifically from Killian since she would be trying to hurt his future wife.
’I honestly cannot deal with a fake relationship from someone so close to me-’
"Amelia!" Gina’s voice snapped Amelia out of her thoughts. "Why are you just standing there daydreaming? Come sit with us."
Amelia looked at everyone else seated by a table. She was the only one still standing by a door. "Sorry. How do you like the room, Cyrus? It is much bigger than the one you have in the Blackwell castle."
"How do you know how big it is, princess?" Jahi asked, concerned by the fact Amelia and Cyrus might have been in his room at one point. It wasn’t uncommon for royals to sleep with their servants.
"Simple. All the servant quarters rooms are the same size. I have been inside both Gina’s and Cyrus’s rooms. Cyrus not so much since he was always standing outside my door to guard it but there were times I practically dragged him back there to get some rest. It was super annoying to reach my room and he’d be back there before me. Now I know why," Amelia glared at Cyrus. It was a tiring but fun memory.
