The Throne Is Mine

Chapter 93

"I don’t see why you and I need to have a conversation, Cedric. We’ve hardly spoken to each other in the past-"

"It concerns the little lover boy you’ve been running around with. You fell for the king of the north pretty quickly, princess. Did his throne tempt you?" Cedric grinned as he taunted her.

Amelia smiled, unphased by his attempt to ridicule her. "You must be happy to finally gain entry into the castle now that my father is dead. I think it should be investigated if you were working with king Killian. You have always wanted to be in the castle so much that you pushed for your son to marry the half-blood princess. I wonder if I should tell my lover boy to pick someone else to rule. We can always wait for Annabelle’s bastard child."

Cedric smiled but he was annoyed by Amelia’s suggestion. "Now that we are going forward with a truce, your future husband cannot meddle in Blackwell’s business and you should not indulge him in doing it. No matter what, Fraser will be the next king. An Adam-"

"You must be feeling like this is a historic moment for your bloodline but as great as you think the Adams name is, Fraser will change his name to Blackwell and ignore the Adams. You and I both know it won’t be long before you are once again denied access to the castle. Though I hate you, it cannot compare to how much Fraser hates you," Amelia sweetly spoke as the words left her mouth.

One of the things she and Fraser had in common was how much they disliked Cedric Adams. Amelia hated Cedric because of his insults to royalty when he secretly wanted to be in their position. Fraser hated Cedric because the man always talked down on him.

Cedric had a lot he wanted to say to her to get rid of her pride but that was not why he came looking for her. "It is important that we have a conversation about what will happen when you go to the north."

Amelia could not hold back her laughter though she tried to. "Why on earth would I discuss that with you when you’re not even a court minister or my grandfather? Cedric, you keep forgetting you have nothing to do with the castle no matter how many court ministers you befriend. Excuse me, I don’t want my breakfast to get cold."

As Amelia was about to walk by Cedric, he grabbed her hand, and instinctively, Cyrus pulled out his sword to protect her.
