The nether clan's upper echelons had to be feeling alarmed after losing so many of their fellow clansmen. Surely, they wouldn't let Liu Wuxie walk away.
"I only fear they won't come," Liu Wuxie said, a sinister smile tugging at his lips. The Great Death Mythical Art was near completion; killing a few thousand more of the nether clan would suffice.
As they traveled through the desert, A'Lei and A'Li quickened their pace, crossing the blazing dunes and collecting several Fire Demon Worms for alchemy.
"The nether clan has retreated to the eighth level," A'Li said, pointing toward its entrance. He found it odd that the nether clan had evacuated entirely from the seventh level and moved to the eighth.
"Looks like they plan to ambush us on the eighth level," Liu Wuxie said, his eyes flashing coldly.
"What should we do now? Do we continue to the eighth level?" Vanya asked anxiously. Entering the eighth level could bring them into conflict with even stronger experts, possibly even nether clan cultivators at the Void Realm.
Although Liu Wuxie had reached the Primal Origin Realm, facing Void Realm experts would still not be easy.
"Continue," Liu Wuxie said, his tone resolute.
The exit to the Netherworld would open on the ninth level, and they would have to continue if they wished to leave alive. They could return to the first level to escape, but the surface of the Netherworld was a wasteland with no teleportation array.
The four of them entered the eighth level. The terrain was vast, featuring a black continent with black grass covering the ground, similar to the second level, but the atmosphere was thick with dense nether energy.
They all took a deep breath and felt uncomfortable. Vanya, in particular, showed signs of distress.
"This is strange. Where did the nether clan go?" Liu Wuxie wondered aloud, noticing the absence of the nether clan despite entering the eighth level. However, they did spot many humans nearby, searching for spiritual herbs.
