More than anyone, he knew that many in the academy wanted him dead. Without Qu Su's protection, someone could have used this chance to assassinate him. His three senior brothers alone couldn't possibly defend him by themselves.
"That's good. I can finally breathe easy," Qu Su sighed in relief.
Though the crisis had passed, its aftermath lingered. The Heavenly Gate Peak was now in ruins. Rebuilding would take time.
