Mikhail, who had brought the information, took over after Elena finished her explanation and continued.
“Even before this speculation was made, I had the dark side investigate to see if anything suspicious was happening, including the noble faction. If demons were involved, we had gathered rumors of large numbers of missing people and large numbers of monsters and undead, but we were able to narrow it down to some extent based on Her Highness’ speculation.”
Mikhail spread out a map of the area around the royal capital on the table and pointed to one of the areas.
“This area is known to be remote, with few conveniences even though it is close to the center. Still, it is a place where the royal family during the former Kingdom of Cleydale gave mansions to the nobility as a reward, and several nobles still own mansions.”
With red ink on a quill pen, he crosses out what appears to be a village and circles one spot.
“There are people who have gone missing in the villages marked with a cross. In some cases, they are attacked by monsters, etc. and disappear, but ten people is too many. So I sent the dark side in to see if they could be found–”
Mikhail stared at the circled point, wrinkling his brow.
