Chapter 176.4
One of the men, who had been moving along the passage ahead, away from Camille and the others, suddenly looked around, and the man next to him asked in a whisper.
“Well, it seems something is different from before…”
“Did we take a wrong turn?”
“No, I don’t think so… Sir Gram, we’re going to take that third aisle to the right next.”
“Okay, okay. You guys, there’s a hole in the dark there, be careful.
“Ha!”
Even dungeon maps did not cover every hole in the floor and inaccessible places.
Not even the distances were accurate, as they could not measure the exact elevation differences or the angles of turns. Still, they were able to move on without getting lost because Gram, who was leading the way, was able to find a hole that led underground.
In dungeons, parts of the ceiling and walls are faintly illuminated to lure in prey. In a normal dungeon, this would be useful, but in the case of this intricate dungeon, complex shadows were created that hid the holes in the floor, making them look like pitfalls.
A pitfall would only sprain a foot if it was only a few meters long. However, in this dungeon, there was a hole that led not only to the second floor, but also to the third floor, and it was known as an instant-death trap.
