Further on, we saw a light that looked like a bonfire in what appeared to be the center of the village.
We ran in that direction, and what we saw there were dozens of frightened villagers still alive, surrounded by a mass of corpses and Undead and a single figure that seems to be the culprit to this whole thing.
There were people who were still alive. More than that, there were those who were dead. As I was searching for a way to save the villagers, who were all bundled together in the village square, just waiting to die, a voice that sounded like the sound of a bell suddenly echoed in the night.
“Who…?”
A pitch-black figure turned towards us who was looking at the villagers and asked who in a strangely accented language.
The figure easily spotted us in the darkness, especially Carla, who had no Concealment skills. Was that the Vampire that attacked the village? Or was it another entity? The figure slowly turned around, its profile emerging in the faint light of the bonfire.
The figure’s skin was black and lustrous, like polished obsidian. Long ears protruding from silver hair. Reddish golden eyes reflecting us.
“…Dark Elf?”
“[Evil Race]”
The girl was a Dark Elf, just like my Master Cerezelura. And on this continent, she was known as the [Evil Race], an existence that opposes the humans, forest elves, dwarves, and beastmen.
This was the first time I had seen a Dark Elf other than the Master, but how could an entity also known as the Evil Race, be in this country? There was no war with the demons in the last few decades. It was not as if she had escaped from the land of the demons like my master….
The Dark Elf girl clearly had malicious intent against the people of this country.
