Despite numerous attempts at the ritual, Mr. Clear never appeared. Was it because those present were not recognized as the true rulers of the world? Or were there additional, more specific conditions required?
Regalia rested her chin on her hand, silently observing the failed participants. The aristocrats, overwhelmed by the sovereign’s gaze and her unyielding silence, lowered their heads and began trembling like criminals awaiting judgment.
With a single word from her delicate lips, Regalia could decide the fates of everyone in that room. In that moment, she was nothing less than a god to them.
"It seems you’ve failed?"
"Ah, no, that’s not what I—"
"Don’t make me repeat myself."
A tense silence filled the room. Without a word, Regalia snapped her fingers, and androids stationed outside began entering, one by one, to escort the participants away.
Held by cold, lifeless mechanical arms, they cried out like livestock being led to slaughter.
"Please, just one more chance!"
"This is too cruel! Some of the victims were my family!"
"If you harm us, you’ll meet the same fate one day!"
Their desperate cries were nothing more than the noises of beasts. Regalia showed no interest, dismissing them with a wave of her hand.
