In the middle of my conversation with the Watcher, the monitor suddenly shut off.
Startled by the pitch-black screen, I turned my head and saw that the mainframe had also lost power.
The already dimly lit lab was plunged into complete darkness, and I stood up slowly, feeling a sense of unease.
“What the...? Even the lights aren’t working?”
A blackout?
No, that didn’t make sense.
The Evilus Corporation’s building was equipped with emergency generators. They had functioned perfectly even during the recent global crisis that almost froze the entire planet.
Yet now the entire building had lost power? Impossible.
“What the hell is happening this time?”
Letting out a frustrated sigh, I stepped out of the lab—only to find the hallway just as drenched in darkness.
Not a single trace of light.
