Chapter 19
Kiaros and Fron were rushed for treatment.
Fron barely survived the ordeal at the crossroads of life and death, but she would never be able to move with agility again, the healers said.
Kiaros, however, wasn’t quite as bad.
“Just a few days of medication and you’ll be fine.”
This was because, unlike Fron, he had only grazed the dagger and had some resistance to poison.
“Still, if you had been struck directly, it would have been disastrous.”
The physician wrapped a bandage around Kiaros’s arm as he spoke.
“Especially considering the blackout period...”
Kiaros lowered his head and remained silent.

If only he hadn’t carelessly uttered the words “blackout period,” Fron wouldn’t have been hurt.
The guilt stirred in the arrogant boy’s expression.
