The only difference was that those mountain peaks were piled with countless corpses.
Layer upon layer of skeletons formed continuous mountain ranges, an appalling sight. Some of the skeletal remains had already turned into stark white bones, reflecting a ghastly light under the cold glow; while others still retained their flesh and blood.
And the races were varied...
There were demon generals with blue faces and sharp teeth, celestials with six wings on their backs, and dragon bones a thousand feet long...
Pick any one at random, and in life, they were terrifying beings sitting in power over a region. Yet now, they were lifeless, dead for an unknown number of years.
Their surprise was not in these corpses’ past formidable nature, but in how horrific their lives must have been. None could have been more powerful than any one present.
What puzzled everyone was, why was this abyss full of bodies?!
Moreover, from observation, many of these corpses appeared to have been intentionally cast into this abyss.
Above this mountain-like mass of corpses, tendrils of black mist swirled around.
Like pitch-black poisonous snakes, they slithered and darted among the corpses, linking all the flesh and blood together.
