Chapter 449: Her Dream
From there, Duke George dragged Abel from one point to another to formally introduce him to some of his friends and some high-ranking officials of Ebodia. All throughout, even though he was conversing with others, Abel still managed to check on Dani every so often. From what he could see, she too was very busy entertaining their guests, smiling left and right at all the people she had to greet. And by the time it was already dark out, he honestly just wanted to skip through everything and just grab his wife so that the two of them could finally have some time alone.
A few moments later, Abel sighed as he comfortably sat back at his designated table. He had finally managed to get back to their couple’s table, but unfortunately, Dani wasn’t there. As such, he quickly searched for her, and his lips stretched wide upon seeing her already approaching him.
"Oh, my dear husband!" she cheerfully greeted as she sat beside him. "How’s the party going?"
"Even better now that you’re here by my side," Abel cheekily replied. "After all, having someone as beautiful as you beside me always makes life more worthwhile."
"Is that so?" Dani chuckled as she downed another glass of wine. "Care to explain why?"
"One, you’re beautiful. Two, you’re witty, and three, you’re just amazing company," Abel enumerated with seemingly practiced precision. "Would you like to hear more?"
Dani eagerly nodded as she grabbed yet another glass of wine, downing it in one go before smiling warmly at him. She seemed to be enjoying drinking, so Abel didn’t hold her back and let her drink some more.
"Don’t get drunk on me, Dani," he reminded her when he noticed that she seemed to already be getting drunk. Right now, she was cupping her face, and then she chuckled whenever she pressed herself onto him until his lips puckered. In response, she leaned in to peck his lips.
"So adorable. You know, I find vampires with red irises scary and unappealing, but you’re quite different," she told him with a grin. "You look so manly and handsome. You’re simply oozing with sex appeal, husband."
Abel chuckled even as he started looking at the other people around them. As much as he enjoyed seeing his wife’s playful side in her drunken state, he didn’t want their guests to see it as well.
"Dani, I think you’re already drunk," Abel told her. "Do you want us to go now so that we can have our privacy? Everyone will be looking at us if you keep this up."
