The Crown's Seduction

Chapter 434: Go Crazy

Abel was doing his routine duties for the day when one of the Queen Mother’s servants came and told him to see her so he immediately. Nodding, he put everything down and had a smile on his face as he made his way to the Queen Mother’s residence. Even further, that smile grew wider the moment he saw Dani walking in from another direction.

"Dani," he called out to her.

She looked at him and gave him a curt nod. She had a blank expression on her face, something that he had already gotten used to. Still, he was curious about whether or not he could chip away at her defenses. She often had mood swings, and it wasn’t easy to read someone like her which only made her more interesting.

He had been visiting her often, intentionally faking various alibis to see her and to bring her food because he felt comfortable around her presence. He wanted to take things slow around her as much as he could, knowing that being too forceful would lead her away from him.

"Are you heading to see the Queen Mother as well?" she asked him.

"Yes," Abel replied with a shrug. "I guess she invited both of us. How’s everything though? Is Dahlia alright?"

He couldn’t find the courage to visit Dahlia and face her after everything that happened to Rosela. Deep inside, he was still blaming himself for not looking after her properly. Because of his negligence, Rosela became far more evil. He should have checked on her personally instead of assigning someone whom she could easily manipulate into doing bad things for her.

Dani suddenly stopped walking, and Abel did the same. She turned to him and said, "It’s not too late..."

Abel knitted his brows at her. He was sure that she was referring to their wedding, and he couldn’t help but wonder what happened that she suddenly brought up such a topic when he simply asked her how she was doing. And asking about Dahlia was pretty normal too.

"Too late for what? To call this off? Are you referring to our union?" he directly asked. "Didn’t we already come to a final conclusion about this, Dani?"

He made himself very clear about how he wanted this marriage. Couldn’t she feel how serious he was with her? Was he exposing himself too much around her that she was still having doubts on whether he wanted it or not?

"I mean, Dahlia’s back and I can tell that she’s quite different from Rosela," Dani pointed out, making Abel frown as he stared at her. "Why don’t you take responsibility for her? She looks exactly like Rosela too..."
