Chapter 390: A Surprise Visit
It was their second day of spending time away from the palace at their newly-found haven in the southern part of Valcrez, and Mineah felt like she wanted to go out some more just like what they did last midnight when they went to a night market where she enjoyed a lot of street foods she was craving for. They enjoyed it so well that she and Nikolai were only now waking up. It was already time for lunch, which meant that they had to do that first before doing anything else.
Mineah sighed as she watched Nikolai prepare their lunch at the table. "I miss my mom’s soybean paste stew," she pouted. "I also wonder what my garden back home looks like now..."
"I can try cooking that now as well, Mine," Nikolai enthusiastically replied to her with a wink.
Mineah simply shrugged even as she gave him a soft smile. Her husband was having a great time cooking the dishes she would ask for lately. While he was doing great and she enjoyed everything he made for her, there were still instances when she would prefer having food from other places like the candied fruit they had during the early morning.
It was through thinking about this that her eyes suddenly lit up as an idea popped in. "Hmm... How about we go to Ebodia right now and have a quick visit?" she suggested with a grin. "Please? It won’t be too much of a bother."
It wouldn’t be too hard either. They could always arrive there in a snap using her teleportation spell, and it had been a while since she used her inner energy, meaning that it wouldn’t impact her too much to do such a thing.
"Alright, let’s pay them a surprise visit then if that’s what you want," Nikolai replied with a smile. "But first, let’s eat our lunch here. We’ll travel in my mist so we’ll be arriving there before dinner anyway."
"How about we use my teleportation spell instead?" she suggested back. "It’s been a while since I used my power. My body is healthy now, and my divine energy is back in all the right places." On top of that, her body had become more agile, and she could feel how tremendously her divine power grew, especially when her curse was lifted and the chaos inside her diminished.
"No... Let’s just use my mist form," Nikolai insisted. "Isn’t it good to travel while seeing everything beneath you?"
