Chapter 385: Yours*
Mineah was still giggling when Nikolai transported the two of them into a place she had never been to yet. They were currently standing on a vast plain with different beautiful wildflowers and plants, making it look colorful under the sunset beyond.
"What’s this place?" she asked, her eyes blinking to make sure that she was seeing things properly. "Where are we?"
"I came across this field while doing my investigations during the days when everyone thought I was dead," Nikolai remarked as he lovingly rained kisses on her knuckles. "I thought I should let you see this one of these days once everything quiets down. You used to collect a lot of wild plants before, but you’ve been very busy lately because of your responsibilities to our kingdom."
She couldn’t help but smile at his words. Her husband never failed to make her heart flutter even with the simplest of things. Turning to him, she possesively wrapped her arms around his neck and pouted, "You’re always pampering me," she whispered. "But I love it." She then tiptoed up and gleefully rained light kisses on his face.
Nikolai chuckled and said, "I won’t stop pampering you, especially when I get to have rewards like this. You’re the very best thing that happened in my life, Mine."
Mineah’s face blushed at her husband’s words. She then felt his hand on her shoulders as he guided her into a walk.
"There’s a cabin near the river. I had my men build it in just a short time while I was playing dead..." Nikolai suddenly informed her. "We’ll be having a short vacation here from today onwards, Mine."
Mineah was surprised at the news, but she loved the idea of having some time alone with her husband after the rollercoaster of events they had experienced from their enemies. It wasn’t easy since both Nikolai and she had been working hard to plan and think ahead of their enemies, but it was all worth it to make sure that it wasn’t them who would end up in their trap.
"Right, you haven’t told me yet about the magical pearl you used. I heard there’s only one of it in this world and that one of the guardians of the Element Forest gifted it to my sister, Xenia," Mineah murmured. "That’s the magical pearl they used to bring down the killer of King Darius’s father."
She stopped walking and with a creased forehead, turned towards her husband.
"Yes, it’s the same magical pearl, Mine. I borrowed it from your sister, Queen Xenia. Fritz was the one who suggested it, reminding me of how Queen Xenia used it to store memories of Nasser’s past from the Lake of Life inside the Element Forest," Nikolai lengthily explained. "Queen Xenia confirmed the ability of the Magical Pearl to store certain events it would witness, so I asked for her and wizard Lurio’s help to make sure that it would store everything that’s happening while Raul is with Sage and Ahmed. I then compelled Niran to give it to Raul and not have it removed from him no matter what..."
Discounting the outlandish story, Mineah simply hugged her husband’s arm and said, "As expected, my husband is really the best!"
