Chapter 350: Stranger
Mineah went back inside their bedchamber, and there she found Abel who curtly greeted her with a bow. She just didn’t want to leave Nikolai alone unattended so she asked both Abel and Fritz to take turns whenever she was in situations where needed to leave Nikolai, such as right now.
"Your Majesty, Taro has been worried. He just sent word, asking if he’ll be allowed to see King Nikolai," Abel informed.
"I’m allowing it. Let Taro return here for some time and have Luis relieve him in the meantime," Mineah said and Abel nodded. The two of them then delved into further discussions regarding more crucial matters concerning the governance of the kingdom, ensuring that Nikolai’s condition would remain confidential, particularly among the ears of the opposition.
She immediately dismissed Abel after they finished their discussion. Krisha soon entered the room as well to bring her dinner.
"Let’s have dinner together, Milady," Krisha said with a smile after preparing the table. Mineah smiled and said, "It’s fine Krisha. You should leave now and get ready, Taro will be arriving any time now since I allowed him to take a break to see Nikolai. He’s worried... And while he’s here, I see no harm in allowing him to stay for a few more days so that the two of you could have enough time to spend together."
Krisha’s face reddened and she looked more lovely with how her face lit up and glowed. "Thank you, Your Majesty!" She beamed. "I’ll go fetch Zaila and Dani so that they may have dinner with you."
Mineah chuckled and said, "It’s really fine. Dani is now married as well and I’m sure she would love to dine with her husband too, although Abel might have a different appetite. I heard he enjoys human meals too. Zaila needs more rest, as she’s been deprived of sleep taking care of both Zoran and Ezekiel. I can have dinner alone. Besides, I want to have some private time now with Nikolai so that I can nag him again for sleeping too long."
Krisha smiled and then courteously left the bedchamber. Mineah sat by the table and ate her dinner while watching Nikolai who remained unconscious. She quickly finished her dinner and proceeded with her usual routine, including meditating, to ensure that her body had fully adjusted well to her active divine powers that were no longer restricted given that the chaos inside of her had cleared. She was truly freed from her curse now, and that was because of her husband. He had kept his promise.
Mineah checked on Nikolai’s condition. It remained unchanged, she could still see his life force but it was still unstable and faint, flickering like a blinking star. It was the first time she had encountered a life force like this, but then it was probably because his body was still repairing. What mattered most was that his life force was still there, and it meant that he would wake up once it stopped blinking.
