Chapter 303: I’ll Come Back to You
Today was the happiest day of Dahlia’s life. Her eyes were shining as she stared at the document she and Zoran had just signed with their blood. A seal was then applied to the document by their King, Queen, and Minister Laura, indicating that she was now legally married to Zoran in the eyes of Valcrezian law and the heavens.
"You may now kiss the bride."
Dahlia furiously blushed as Laura humorously finalized her wedding. It wouldn’t be the first time that she and Zoran kissed, but it was definitely the first time that they would do so in front of other people keenly staring at them. She could already hear how they cheered for them, and they even clapped their hands as soon as she felt Zoran’s arm wrap around her waist as he pulled her closer to him.
"We shouldn’t disappoint them, my wife," Zoran hummed with a devious smile.
From there, Dahlia felt his lips against hers, and she subconsciously closed her eyes as she wrapped her arms around his neck. She answered his passionate kiss with an eager one, and she just knew that there was nothing else in this world that mattered right now than her love for the man in front of her.
"I love you so much, my wife," Zoran whispered on her lips.
Dahlia slowly opened her eyes, meeting his intense gaze as she murmured back, "And I love you too, my dear husband."
Composing herself, Dahlia took a small breath as she and Zoran moved to face the few guests they had with a wide and bright smile. They were all filled with so much joy, and they both were grateful to everyone who had come to witness their simple yet very memorable union.
Still, that beautiful and beaming smile on Dahlia’s face paled as soon as she heard lively music being played in the background. She had clearly instructed for the event to not have any music because that was one of the things she remembered from Seer Tara’s vision... Lively music had been playing in the background before the tragedy of Zoran dying happened. The seer clearly said that there seemed to be an event going on, and it just so happened that it was their wedding, it would seem...
’No! It can’t be... Oh, please, dear Almighty...’ Dahlia silently prayed as her body started trembling. ’Not tonight... It can’t be tonight!’
Her heart hammered against her chest as she felt shivers running down her spine. The thought of possibly losing Zoran tonight was too much for her to bear, and there was no telling what would happen next.
