Chapter 291: Try Our Best
Zoran frowned, seeing Dahlia’s eyes welled up with tears.
"I guess you didn’t listen in through the bangle when Seer Tarah shared everything about the vision that day," Dahlia weakly muttered.
Zoran’s frown deepened. Dahlia already told him about how Queen Mineah asked for Ebodia’s Seer to check if a vision would come once she touched Dahlia. They were trying their best to look for ways to help him and Zoran truly appreciated their kind gestures. Yet, he could already tell that whatever this vision was something not good because of how Dahlia was reacting now.
He purposely cut off his spell connection to hear her with the bangle because he had been inside of Devon’s territory. He had decided that he would only activate the spell whenever he was in a safe location. He was fortunate enough that one night, he was able to hear Dahlia’s words, saying how she missed him and even cursing him for not being able to see her.
Hearing her was enough to risk casting a protective spell with the bangle connected to him, for him to just feel and know whenever Dahlia was in danger. He stored enough energy in that bangle to make sure she would be protected enough from any harm that came her way.
He got up and moved to sit beside her as he quickly pulled her into his embrace. He didn’t know what to feel at that moment. But he knew one thing was for sure, he didn’t want to see Dahlia crying because of him. Making her cry was the last thing he ever wanted to do.
"Shh... Don’t you know that not all visions that come to a Seer are accurate? Especially to an Ebodian Seer. I’m a stranger to Ebodia. A fated Seer of Ebodia usually only has accurate visions involving Ebodia and its people. I’m no Ebodian, so there’s a high chance that the vision of this Seer Tarah will not even happen." Zoran reasoned because that was a known fact.
"I know that, yet you can’t deny the fact that there’s also a high possibility for this to take place, Zoran. I know how things work with Seers... This is an opportunity for us to change the fate that has been ordained on you. I will not let you die because of me. You... Y-you a-already s-sacrificed t-too much because o-of m-me..." Dahlia stammered as she struggled to deliver her words while sobbing. Zoran gulped as he buried his nose into her thick blonde hair, inhaling her refreshing feminine scent.
He was able to find comfort in her warmth like this. He felt his heart swell with the weight of Dahlia’s deep love for him. It was his dream come true, and he couldn’t help but cry as well.
